Paintball! Some More! - Tuesday, 2nd Period

"It's our last class today," Steve said, and that explained why he was in full Captain America gear, including the shield. "So it's a free for all."

"Try to have fun and not get too competitive about it," Tony added like he wasn't in the Iron Man armor.

"Do not be sent to the clinic over it," Steve amended because he'd met the people in this class.

"And we'll hopefully see you all next semester!" Very different class. Veeeeeery different.

Caritas- Tuesday

Tino had all sorts of ideas for movies for the upcoming weeks. Kitty had them planned, and she said so, but he was undeterred.

Which led to her saying a lot of things like, "I'm not sure anything rather NC-17 is family friendly?" or "No, we're not pulling a Death in a Fence series all night marathon."

It might be a long night.

Beach! [Tuesday, 2nd Period]

Class was being held on the beach again this week, because neither Aphra nor Isabela were any good at following rules even when they weren't extremely stupid. So beach crime it was.

Judging by the face they were attempt to set a massive pile of driftwood alight using last week's pamphlet as kindling, it was firey beach crime. Which would surely end well. Especially with the cooler of drinks and the stack of pointy sticks next to another cooler of various toastable snacks.

"Beach crime," Aphra shouted triumphantly as the flames took.

"Beach crime party," Isabela added, gesturing to the various coolers. "Invite all your friends."

Enjoy your final, guys.

Meme: Superlatives

My boss is working from home today and therefore I'm sooooort of working? So I'm bringing back a meme we haven't done since 2020.

There is a tradition in American high schools where you get to vote on who you think has the best smile, or is most likely to be President, or fall in a well and not be found for three days. This is that in meme form. This meme is open to all! Just post your own superlative category in a new thread and/or ping in with who you think should win that award. Be as crazy or serious as you like, but please let's keep it fun!

Answers are OOC, and feel free to add your own categories!

Atlas Gym; Tuesday [08/19].

Most of Gladio's day was filled with the usual rounds to check on everything in the gym interspersed with taking care of some phone calls and clerical, administrative stuff in the office and several of his typical trips to the Cup NoodleTM claw machine in the lobby. But there was that one chunk of time in the afternoon where he could be found....detangling a ball of gremlins.

That's right. Detangling a ball of gremlins. It was the first time for a new ribbon rhythm dancing class for the gremlins in one of the classrooms, and it....did not go well. Somehow, they'd managed to get themselves all wrapped up in the ribbons and each other, leaving them irritable as he tried to help get them out.

He was half tempted to put on fencing gear for protection against ungrateful bites, but, sometimes, Gladio liked to live dangerously and take his chances.

Atlas is open!

Luke's Diner; Tuesday [08/19].

Ignis's consistency in coming into work lately had been...well, quite frankly, very un-Ignis-like in its sporadic nature these days, but if his fellow diner staff thought that leniency was going to leak into the rest of his disposition when he did actually make it in, then they would be sorely mistaken.

However, despite that, he was fairly sure that the faint groan that accompanied his arrival that morning had very little to do with his actual presence, and more to do with a new factor being added to the betting board, based on the sound of shifting feet and squeaking markers.

Ignis himself, of course, wasn't going to comment unless any of them began that conversation, and would just stroll in as he always did, hitting up that coffee pot first and foremost before settling in to decide on a few good recipehs for the board.

Today's Specials
Asparagus Pesto Chicken Sandwich with Parmesan Fries
Baked Tofu Pesto Bowl
Grilled Peaches with Sweet Mint Pesto

J,GoB, Tuesday Morning

Once again Marc was in one of the local establishments pondering buying things for more than himself for reasons he was not examining too closely.

Which was a shame because if he had he might be doing better than last time. As it was he was staring at the offerings at J,GoB and thinking okay, chocolate doughnut for Illyana, muffins for Steven and Watts, and...

Shit, there was something Arden wasn't good on in the sweets department, right? Vanilla maybe? Cream cheese?

Asking was cheating so of course Marc wasn't going to do that. Instead he was going to stare at what was on offer and see if inspiration came to him. Either that or he'd bribe the person behind the counter to come up with something. One of those.

Trooper Station, Monday, August 18

Steve had been here every day, RL just got busy was back at the office after the weekend and returned just in time to answer the phone that the Troopers had been very obviously avoiding.

Ralph muttered something under his breath about that being Steve's funeral and that was the only warning Steve had before the Bee Lady was giving him an earful about their heartlessness in overlooking National Honeybee Day.

When she finally took a breath, Steve quickly offered, "We can send a card?" and that set her off for another five minutes.

Apparently, the only way to mend this fence was to send individualized cards to each of her bees, who were all, individually, very hurt.

"Uh huh," Steve said, hanging up. He wasn't going to do that. The tiny cards on the Troopers' desk said that they were much more afraid of the Bee Lady and her consequences.

The Trooper Station was open and bird free, at least? There was no guarantee an angry swarm of bees wasn't in-bound.

How to Waste Time on the Internet, 3rd period

"Welcome to our final class," Jon said. "Ordinarily, I'd have a final, but I'm not even sure what that would look like for this, honestly. Who can waste time the best? I don't know how to measure that. So instead, I've got a cat video that will take up the entire class time. You can sit here and watch it while you also look at other things on your phone. Because multitasking is a wonderful way to waste time on the internet."

Stabby was...tap dancing? Yep. Tapping on the front desk.

"How did he get the shoes?" Stark asked.

"SeaBay. It's always SeaBay with him," a nurse said dismissively.

Stark nodded because that was true and set down the coffees.

"I didn't realize he could do this," Stark said, keeping his eye on the crab. "Do you think he dances often?"

"Looks like he practices, doesn't it?"

Stark had to nod again.

The clinic was open, the crab was dancing, and the alien was in.

Destiny & Free Will [Monday, Period 4]

The students should have gotten a handwaved notice to dress nicely and meet outside the school, where they would find Ghanima and Trebor waiting for them next to a portal.

"Right."  Reaching in her coat pocket, Ghanima retrieved a deck of the Dune Tarot and fanned the cards at them.  "Step right up, and ask me what today holds for you.  Through there -" she gestured at the portal with the cards,  " - is Monaco.  Home to some of the most wonderful casinos this Earth holds.  I am giving each of you fifty dollars.  Your mission is to take the future I forsee, and try to beat it.  If I tell you that you are destined to win big, sit outside and give away money.  If I say you fail, go cheat the casino by whatever means you choose.  The one rule is not to get caught, because I am not paying for bail.  I want to see how many of you manage to flaunt destiny."

"After all," she grinned humorlessly, flipping up the Hanged Man with ease.  "Navigating the future is a family talent.  Who wants to try and beat the oracular Atreides?"

Teamwork- Monday, 1st period

The Danger Shop looked a lot like the park today. And there was a truck full of weapons on the ground between the teachers. In case that told you anything.

"You've been a very capable class," Jag told them, a very high compliment. "For our last class, you're going to be able to let loose a bit."

"We're going to have a good old-fashioned invasion," Jaina told them. "You can choose a weapon, and the monsters are programmed in a way that you'll have to fight them together. Defeat them, and then you're prepared for the next time that happens."

2 Problem 2 Creative, Monday, August 18, 2025

Today class was in the Danger Shop. What dire task was going to be set before them for their final? Whatever it was, it was behind curtains because your teachers loved themselves a dramatic reveal. "Welcome to our final time together, though I also encourage everyone to take our upcoming class in the Fall, which will include fewer gifts for the teachers."

But probably not zero gifts for the teachers, now that Anakin had learned he could get people to bring him gifts.

Speaking of, it was time to present your latest and last offerings.

Once they had been judged, Ahsoka led each student in turn to a plinth near the curtains. "We will be judging the skill and speed of your roasting skills today," she informed them. "After each figure behind the curtain is revealed, you must roast them as quickly and relevantly as possible. Fastest roaster wins, best roaster gets bonus points."

"For clarification," Anakin said with a little smile at Henry, "we mean you should say mean but funny things about the figures, not cook them."

Did Ahsoka seem especially amused right now? Maybe.

Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

When Nell arrived to open the shop today she found stacks of what appeared to be mail order catalogs being dropped off. She tried to explain that she hadn't ordered them and didn't need them, but the mail person insisted that they had to drop them off because of what day it was.

"Monday?" Nell asked, with a note in her voice that suggested it was hopeless to even ask, and indeed she just got an eye roll before they headed off for their next stop.

Nell sighed and brought the stack inside before setting to work. Periodically throughout the day, if she had a break, she'd pick one up at random and leaf through it. Some of them were ridiculously expensive or had ridiculous offerings. Sometimes both.

Come distract her!

Harley-her-Harley had not come home last night. Instead, Pam had received a nigh-indecipherable string of emojis and exclamation marks, from which she'd deduced that the situation was still ongoing but not to worry.

Which made her worry.

Between that and the anger and the worry about Adrian, she'd be spending the early morning hours tearing through the store with a broom. Maybe there were some corners Adrian hadn't reached last week?

Infinite Consortium, Monday

There were a number of broken bottles, mirrors, and various and sundry items around the store today. And also one necromancer currently having fun with the day's most recent shipment. The thunder lasso she had received was a great deal of fun to play with. Not only did it make her stronger and tougher when she equipped it, but with a quick flick of her wrist, she was lassoing things over and knocking them done with ease.

The haunted armor did not appreciate being used for practice, but was also used to its lot in life as it once again picked itself up off the ground. Just to once again feel the lariat slide over its shoulders and--CRASH! Yup. Once again tapped prone on the ground.

"All right, all right, I'll put this away in the window," Liliana said. "You've got a lot to clean up around here anyway."

The haunted armor once more pushed itself up to its feet. No lasso. Went to the cleaning closet. No lasso. Grabbed a broom. No lasso. Started to sweep--

Lasso.

Once more it went crashing to the floor as Liliana laughed. "Couldn't resist," she said with a brilliant grin, before skipping off to the desk, leaving the haunted armor to start the whole process all over again.
